I’ve never fucked anyone until I blacked out but I sure as hell did last night. I woke up this morning with my cock still resting inside of her. I eased out of the bed and tugged my jeans on before stepping outside the door to smoke. I look down at the ring on my pinky finger and it makes me regret a lot of things in my life. I should have been smarter and planned shit out a little better but having Giselle with me wasn’t the plan. I pull out my cell and make the dreaded call. It only takes two rings for him to answer.

“Yeah?”

“Hey, Kred.”

“Remi? Where the fuck are you? Shits been hittin’ the fan, brother. Heard some crazy ass story’s too.” He sounds worried which isn’t Kred at all.

“Need to come home, Kred. My heads not in a good place and shit is hittin’ the fan. Lupita’s dead. Landon gave up a hit,” I sigh into the line. This isn’t what I wanted to do. I don’t want to look weak.

“I know what you’re thinkin’ and this doesn’t make you weak. We’re family regardless of your status, Remi. Let’s not talk over the line, get your ass here so we can talk shit out, yeah?” I blow out a ring of smoke, and rub my forehead with my fingers.

“I’m not alone. Situation is complicated, brother.”

“Ain’t they always? You trust her?” His words slam into my chest. I trust Giselle, not so much Suzi.

“Shit’s a little more complicated than that, brother. She has two personalities. One I trust, the other I don’t,” I tell him when I hear the gasp behind me. I turn around to see Giselle standing there with a sheet wrapped around her body, her hair in a mess hanging around her shoulders. She stares at me with her mouth open.

“Well, we’ll deal with that. If she’s important to you, we got this.”

“She is important to me,” I say the words staring right into her eyes. Her gaze softens slightly.

“How long until you get here?”

“Few hours. Had a run in down south not sure if they radioed the boys over the border. Might need to secure the clubhouse,” I tell him.

“Roger that. Get your ass home, Remi.” The line goes dead as I inhale another large pull from my cigarette. Giselle watches me intently before she asks, “You don’t trust me or Suzi?”

“Suzi. Especially where I’m takin’ you. My life is complicated, Giselle. I’m a Nomad and I explained what that meant but my family, my real family that raised me, they are a club. They have enemies. They have people that would like to see them dead. I’m worried that Suzi is gonna make an appearance at a very bad time,” I try to explain to her. Her gaze drops to her feet and that’s my cue to move in. I flick my cigarette to the ground and shove my phone in my pocket. Closing the space between us, I grab her chin and lift her gaze to mine.
